Tips and advices to know before choosing your photographic Studio

    • Don’t believe in any photographic voucher offering you free makeovers, discounted prints etc … this is the best way to get people through the door and make them spend a fortune at the end of their shoot.
    • Stay away from the manicure, facial, champagne dinks “included” in your packages etc … don’t forget you are coming for a photo shoot and you need to look at your best, not tired or tipsy.
    • Always make absolutely sure that the prices given to you are accurate and confirmed via email.
    • Make sure that photographers and make-up artists are professionals and not just students working for free, building up their portfolios using your images.
    • Always search on Google the Studio or the photographer you are about to go with and look for reviews.
    • Be careful of the Studio you choose, at some, you will wait up to 5 hours before it is your turn and there is no privacy since you will be changing in between clients. That’s why they call it a day’s experience.
    • Check up on what kind of make-up is used and not just a bad brand put into an expensive pot, skin allergies are very common in a lot of these places and make sure all the brushed have been washed.
    • Remember a basic professional make-up done by a highly experienced make-up artist take minimum 30 to 40 minutes and not 10 or 20.
    • Don’t jump and book instantly just because a Studio offered the whole shoot, why would you need 100 photographs of yourself including the defective ones.
    • Be aware of the difference between enhancing and retouching. Enhancing takes only a few minutes and means playing with the contrasts, the lightings, the shadows and the saturations. It doesn’t remove any flaws. Whereas retouching means, brushing, removing flaws etc… this can takes up to 30 minutes per images. Which means that 60 retouched photographs would take about 30 hours. So don’t fall, when someone offers you photographs already retouched.
    • Make sure that the place you are going to have your photographs taken is not just a bedroom converted for the day.
    • Try to get as much information on the camera you will be photographed with and make sure it is a professional one.
    • Make sure the photographer who will shoot you is the same that sold you his work displayed on the website.
    • Remember that you are after high quality and not average quantity.

These photographs have been taken at our Studio. Our client was extremely satisfied and over the moon.

These two sample photographs have been taken at a well-known high Street Studio. Our client left it with us for our personal use. She spent about £850 for these.
